Social Media: A New Hope
for India
Indian politics is the biggest victim of corruption.
Everybody knows this in India ,
even a kid. But this is no new news. New news and perhaps the saddest news for
Indians is that after politics, now TV and print media have become new victim
of corruption. Where to go? This is the latest and the biggest question for a
truthful Indian. Before they used to believe on media to reveal their
sufferings, but the medium they believed to share their troubles for years have
now become money hungry like Indian politicians, government officers, and
corporate sector. Discussion over paid media is one of the favourite topics
these days, even on paid TV channels. Definitely not each and every one is
dishonest, but definitely scared.
In this difficult time, Social Media has emerged as a fresh
hope for millions of Indians who are being abandoned from real news or at least
being the victim of manipulation. I accept there are lot of uncensored
materials are there, but this doesn’t blur the significance of Social Media. Now
even a common man can log into real story without waiting for conventional
media (TV or Print media) to broadcast or print a significant news. Especially for a year or two we have observed
that Social Media has played a huge role in revealing true stories while
conventional media has failed to play its true part. Over the past few years,
common men in India
have observed that media have been intentionally serving untruthful,
exaggerated, or understated news for their own advantages. Whereas in Social
Media there in no place for manipulation, either a news is absolutely truthful
or it is completely rubbish.
And hence people believe Social Media is more reliable than its counterpart and hence they are more attracted towards Social Media for unbiased information. Now it’s hard for anyone, no matter how strong they are, to hide or manipulate a story and therefore they are scared and have been trying their best to damage this source of knowledge. But I am sure their struggle against truth will not survive for very long.
Now the power of information is in your hands, so use it and use it wisely.
